  • Research Assistant I

    New York City

    Assist with social science research pertaining to reproductive behavior and access to health care services (principally sexual behavior, family planning, unintended pregnancy and abortion) in both domestic and international contexts.

  • Director of Public Policy, US & Global

    Washington, D.C.

    The Director of Public Policy is a senior position responsible for managing all aspects of the Institute’s work to advance a federal and global policy agenda for SRHR that is comprehensive, evidence-based and rooted in human rights principles. Reporting to the Vice President for Public Policy, the Director works with a broad range of stakeholders to bring the Institute’s data, analysis and strategic expertise to bear on federal and global policy discussions. An expectation of this position is to take an active role in advancing an organizational culture that centers equity and justice, collaboration, integrity, nimbleness and a global perspective, seeing connections across SRHR issues and different contexts throughout the world. The Director must be committed to supporting an equitable and inclusive work environment and managing relations with a diverse staff, including staff under their own supervision.

  • Director of Public Policy, State

    Washington, D.C.

    The Director of Public Policy is a senior position responsible for managing all aspects of the Institute’s work to advance a state-level policy agenda for SRHR that is comprehensive, evidence-based and rooted in human rights principles. Reporting to the Vice President for Public Policy, the Director works with a broad range of stakeholders to bring the Institute’s data, analysis and strategic expertise to bear on policy discussions, and oversees the Policy division’s editorial function to maximize the impact of the Institute’s policy analysis. An expectation of this position is to take an active role in advancing an organizational culture that centers equity and justice, collaboration, integrity, nimbleness and a global perspective, seeing connections across SRHR issues and different contexts throughout the world. The Director must be committed to supporting an equitable and inclusive work environment and managing relations with a diverse staff, including staff under their own supervision.

  • Global Communications Assistant

    New York City

    The Global Communications Assistant is an integral part of Guttmacher’s  Global Communications team, working collaboratively with mid- and senior-level staff across the Institute’s Communications and Publications division as well as the Global Research and Policy teams to help implement strategies to inform and shape public debate on global sexual and reproductive health and rights issues. This position assists in the creation and dissemination of communications materials across various communications channels (including the Guttmacher website, email list and social media accounts), monitors and documents the impact of these efforts, and provides other project support. This position reports to the Associate Director for Global Communications.

  • Director of Finance

    New York City

    Reporting to the Vice President for Finance & Administration, the Director of Finance (DFA) is part of a Division that includes 5 operating units—Administrative Services, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Meeting & Events. The DFA is responsible for overseeing and managing the Institute’s accounting and budgeting functions, grants management, financial reporting, audit and tax preparation, treasury and strategic cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end closings. The DFA serves as a thought partner on financial matters to the VP of F&A and supervises a team of junior and senior-level accounting staff.

  • Learning and Development Specialist

    New York City

    Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Learning and Development Specialist coordinates organization-wide efforts to ensure that a comprehensive set of learning and development programs are developed and executed for the purpose of retaining, developing, and attracting an engaged and high-performing workforce. Programs include, but are not limited recruitment, onboarding, transitions from employment, performance management, mandatory compliance training (i.e. harassment and non-discrimination trainings), supervisory/management training, and racial equity training.  The Learning and Development Specialist will ensure that there is a culture of continuous development and also monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of L&D programs that has a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.
