  • Research Administrative Manager

    New York City

    Reporting to the Director of Research Operations, the Research Administrative Manager works closely with the Director and other Research Administrative Managers, , to ensure smooth functioning of the Research Division and plays a key role in performing and managing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the Division.  Primary responsibilities may include assisting with US government grant submissions and reporting, monitoring of the Guttmacher Institutional Review Board process, allocation of staff time and other staffing issues, project and budget management, and oversight of contract development and disbursement of payments. The Research Administrative Manager also supports the Directors of Research and Vice President for Research in successfully managing the Division’s administrative and operational needs.

    The Policy Associate, State Issues is responsible for monitoring and analyzing state-level policy developments related to SRHR, representing the Institute in coalition spaces, coordinating the publication of written materials and contributing to policy-related research and communications activities. The division is currently rebuilding and reshaping its approach, and this position will have the opportunity to work with others in advancing the division’s vision for strategic impact, collaboration and equity as it applies to state policy work.

  • Senior Policy Associate, Federal Issues

    Washington, D.C. / Hybrid Work Schedule

    The Senior Policy Associate, Federal Issues is responsible for advancing a federal policy agenda for SRHR that is comprehensive, evidence-based and rooted in human rights principles. Reporting to the Director of Public Policy, this position leads the Institute’s work on a portfolio of SRHR issues and engages with partners, policymakers and advocates in person and in a range of written formats to bring an evidence-based perspective to key policy discussions in the United States. The division is currently rebuilding and reshaping its approach, and this position will have the opportunity to work with others in advancing the division’s vision for strategic impact, collaboration and equity as it applies to federal policy.

  • Global Communications Assistant

    New York City / Hybrid Work Schedule

    The Global Communications Assistant is an integral part of the Guttmacher Institute Global Communications team, working collaboratively with staff across the Institute’s Communications and Publication division as well as the Global Research and Policy teams to help implement strategies to inform and shape public debate on Global sexual and reproductive health and rights issues.  This position works closely with mid and senior level staff of the global communications team by assisting in the creation and dissemination of communications materials across various communications channels (including the Guttmacher website, email list and social media accounts), monitoring and documenting the impact of these efforts, and providing other project support (such as media list building and other research support).

  • Senior US Communications Manager

    New York City or Washington DC / Hybrid Work Schedule

    The Senior US Communications Manager develops and implements communications strategies to maximize the impact of Guttmacher’s U.S.-focused policy analysis and research activities. This position plays a key role in our U.S. media relations and rapid response efforts, proactively developing relationships with reporters and editors; pitching story ideas; ensuring effective fielding of media inquiries; coordinating, prepping and staffing of expert interviews; and helping to supervise the production of curated daily media clips. The Senior US Communications Manager proactively positions the Institute’s policy experts and narratives; opportunistically initiates, facilitates and executes cross-divisional rapid response efforts in close coordination with the rest of the team; and has a leading role in identifying and countering disinformation and inaccurate opposition narratives. In collaboration with the Policy and Research teams, this position conceptualizes and drafts press releases and other materials for media outreach, serves as spokesperson as appropriate, and works with authors and the Institute’s editors to shape messages for a range of other written products.

  • Senior Development Associate

    New York City / Hybrid Work Schedule

    Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, the Senior Development Associate plays a key role in mobilizing financial resources to support Guttmacher’s strategic objectives. This individual’s primary focus is raising funds to support the Institute’s global activities and its projects in low- and middle-income countries. The Senior Development Associate will write and edit grant proposals and reports; conduct research to identify prospective donors; liaise with representatives of private foundations, government agencies, and multilateral organizations; and play a key role in implementing Guttmacher’s institutional fundraising strategy.

  • Content Officer for Policy Analysis

    Washington, D.C. / Hybrid Work Schedule

    The Content Officer for Policy Analysis works collaboratively with other policy division staff and with cross-divisional teams to provide content for the Institute’s policy blog and other policy resources. One main goal of this role is to target policymakers, stakeholder groups and thought leaders with policy analysis grounded in evidence and informed by insights from partners. The position coordinates the content creation team of public policy experts, who analyze sexual and reproductive health policymaking in Washington, state capitals and the globe to supply readers with information critical to understanding the policy landscape and to anticipating and effecting changes. This relies upon strong collaboration skills to create cohesive, strategic and consistent content in line with the Institute’s short- and long-term goals. The division is currently rebuilding and reshaping its approach, and this position will have the opportunity to work with others in advancing the division’s vision for strategic impact, collaboration and equity as it applies to policy analysis and other policy-related materials.
