
Allyson Velez joined the Guttmacher Institute in 2007. She manages the Institute’s portfolio of grants from private and public institutions and assists with developing and implementing the Institute’s fundraising strategy. Before coming to Guttmacher, Ms. Velez was a Resource Mobilization Specialist for the United Nations Population Fund, where she led fundraising efforts for the Campaign to End Fistula. Ms. Velez has also held internships with the Office of Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), EMILY’s List and the Institute for Democracy Studies. She earned a BA in public policy studies from Duke University and a master of public policy from Georgetown University.
