
Megan Anne Darby oversees efforts to advance state-level policy for sexual and reproductive health and rights using the Guttmacher Institute’s data, analysis and strategic expertise.
Before joining Guttmacher, Ms. Darby served as a Senior Strategist with Stones’ Phones, where she worked with the partners on expanding ballot initiative programs and state legislative strategy, specifically in reproductive justice and LGBTQ+ legislation. Before that, Ms. Darby was the National Field Director at Every Voice, where she overhauled and built the structure for their ballot initiative strategy. She was also a leader in the Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s efforts to defeat antichoice ballot initiatives across the country. Ms. Darby spent four years at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) in numerous roles, including as Western Region Legislative Campaign Manager, before moving to America Votes, where she served as a Regional Field Desk for the 2008 election cycle. A New York native, Ms. Darby began her career at the Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee.
