International Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health provides the latest peer-reviewed research on sexual and reproductive health in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia. The journal emphasizes abortion; contraception; fertility; sexual behavior; family planning policies and programs; sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS; and reproductive, maternal and child health.
The Guttmacher Institute has made the difficult decision to cease publication of International Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health effective December 31, 2020. Volume 46 of the journal will be its last and will culminate with the release of IPSRH’s Focus on Abortion special supplement.
Guttmacher started IPSRH nearly 50 years ago when the need for avenues to publish scientific articles in our field was great and the options were few. Over these decades, IPSRH has published foundational and innovative research on a wide range of SRH issues, in the process developing a reputation as a source for high-quality, rigorous research with a focus on real-world implications for both policies and programs. Even after the journal ceases publication at the end of this year, this body of work will continue to be available on the Guttmacher website and on JSTOR.
