United States

Pregnancy

The Guttmacher Institute is the primary source of data on unintended pregnancy and adolescent pregnancy rates at the U.S. state and national levels. The Institute also calculates the public cost of unintended pregnancies and supports investment in family planning services that help address women’s and families’ changing contraceptive needs. Guttmacher also tracks relevant federal and state policies and provides the evidence base to support pregnant women’s ability to obtain insurance coverage and the full range of pregnancy-related care.
